Divine Mercy Saved Him From the Hurricane! | FORWARD BOLDLY

The Diary of St. Faustina, 1731:

"Today a great storm woke me up, the wind was blowing and it was raining as if there were a hurricane as well as a severe thunder storm. I started praying so that the storm would not cause any damage; suddenly, I heard these words: Pray the chaplet that I have taught to you and the storm will stop. Immediately I began to say the chaplet and I had not even finished it when the storm stopped and I heard these words: Through the chaplet you will obtain everything, if what you request is in agreement with My will.”

As the South is wracked with deadly hurricanes, it's good to be reminded of how the image of Divine Mercy has saved people from terrible storms, fires and other disasters, not to mention the many souls it has drawn to God.

So why do some Catholics doubt this devotion? I continue to delve into the objections to Divine Mercy in this follow-up to my previous episode on St. Faustina. (Originally aired April 6, 2024)

About Stella Maris Media

Illustration of Our Lady, Star of the Sea (Stella Maris)

Our vision

The name Stella Maris has its roots in a 5th-century translation by St. Jerome of the Hebrew name for Mary, Miryam. Originally written as Stilla Maris, it meant "Drop of the Sea." Through what likely stemmed from a transcription error, this evolved into Stella Maris, which means "Star of the Sea."

This title has been cherished in Catholic tradition, especially among seafarers before modern navigation, as they relied on the stars to guide them. Notably, the North Star, Polaris, was also known as Stella Maris.

Beyond just seafarers, Stella Maris serves as a beacon for all of life’s travelers, illuminating the darkness and offering hope as it cuts through the fog, guiding us toward the bright shores of eternity.

"Bringing hope to a world in need."
