Is Pro-War Pro-Life? | FORWARD BOLDLY

"Not one inch eastward."

According to declassified State Department documents, in 1990, U.S. Secretary of State James Baker promised then-Soviet President Mikhael Gorbachev that NATO would not expand — in his exact words, NATO would move "not one inch eastward."

His promise was backed by assurances from West Germany, Britain and France.

Relying directly on that promise, Gorbachev agreed to the reunification of East and West Germany and its full membership in NATO, leading to the eventual collapse of the Soviet Union, the dissolution of the Warsaw Pact, and the official end of the Cold War in 1991.

Amazing.

Since then, under our watch and with our approval, NATO has added not one, not two, but sixteen new member states, with the prior administration lobbying hard for Ukraine to become the next.

"Not one inch eastward."

About Stella Maris Media

Illustration of Our Lady, Star of the Sea (Stella Maris)

Our vision

The name Stella Maris has its roots in a 5th-century translation by St. Jerome of the Hebrew name for Mary, Miryam. Originally written as Stilla Maris, it meant "Drop of the Sea." Through what likely stemmed from a transcription error, this evolved into Stella Maris, which means "Star of the Sea."

This title has been cherished in Catholic tradition, especially among seafarers before modern navigation, as they relied on the stars to guide them. Notably, the North Star, Polaris, was also known as Stella Maris.

Beyond just seafarers, Stella Maris serves as a beacon for all of life’s travelers, illuminating the darkness and offering hope as it cuts through the fog, guiding us toward the bright shores of eternity.

"Bringing hope to a world in need."
