'O Come Let Us Adore Him'

Christmas is a time of love and redemption.

"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. " ~John 1:14

We could spend all eternity contemplating the profound humility and the astounding love that made God Man, taking on our flesh — to commune with us and among us, teach us, set an example for us, suffer for us and redeem us, body and soul, so that He could unite us to Him, to the very Godhead, for all eternity in a communion of love — and never reach the depths of these sacred mysteries.

The beauty of God's love is beyond expression. Human words cannot capture the sublime. All we can do is kneel in awe and silence at the door of the manger on that cold Christmas morning 2,000 years ago, and look in upon Our Lady as she cradles the Christ Child in her arms, St. Joseph enrapt in love and the animals lowing as they knelt before Love Incarnate.

That Love that took on Flesh remains with us, in the Holy Eucharist — Our Lord, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity — on Catholic altars and tabernacles all over the globe. This Christmas, let us return love for Love by coming to kneel at His feet and adore the Christ Child, still with us, in the Blessed Sacrament.

This Christmas, let us remember those who are far from home, or alone, and ask Our Lord to console them. Let us also remember those souls who don't know Him at all, who remain lost in pain and confusion. The God Who is Love wishes to draw such souls to His most adorable and loving heart, and it is our prayers that can obtain graces for such lost souls.

Wishing you and all your loved ones a happy and holy Christmas!

About Stella Maris Media

Illustration of Our Lady, Star of the Sea (Stella Maris)

Our vision

The name Stella Maris has its roots in a 5th-century translation by St. Jerome of the Hebrew name for Mary, Miryam. Originally written as Stilla Maris, it meant "Drop of the Sea." Through what likely stemmed from a transcription error, this evolved into Stella Maris, which means "Star of the Sea."

This title has been cherished in Catholic tradition, especially among seafarers before modern navigation, as they relied on the stars to guide them. Notably, the North Star, Polaris, was also known as Stella Maris.

Beyond just seafarers, Stella Maris serves as a beacon for all of life’s travelers, illuminating the darkness and offering hope as it cuts through the fog, guiding us toward the bright shores of eternity.

"Bringing hope to a world in need."
