The Fierce Courage of St. Patrick
One of the greatest men to have ever walked the earth was St. Patrick.
While we celebrate St. Patrick with parades, shamrocks, wearing green (in some cases drinking lots of alcohol), few know the fierce courage this saint displayed during his life, and what a towering giant he was among men.
We can truly say that it was through his tears, sacrifices, and struggles against the pagan and demonic that the entire island of Ireland was converted — and remained deeply Catholic for many centuries afterward.
While shadows seem to cover Ireland today as the new paganism abounds, may she yet — through the prayers of the great St. Patrick — raise up new saints filled with the courage, zeal and conviction of their holy father Patrick, to bring Ireland back to the love of Christ, the practice of the Faith, to drive out the snakes now infesting the land of Eire and once more claim this land for the one and true God.
