YouTube Demonetized Me!

In late September, I received a notice from YouTube informing me I was no longer eligible for monetization. It remains somewhat unclear why, and YouTube did not give me specific examples of my videos that violated their policies.

While I do plan on appealing the decision, I doubt YouTube will reverse its decision, so for now I am resigned to losing this income stream.

Those who have followed me for some time know that I left Church Militant in November 2023. It was a time of great turmoil and intense self-searching. I was terrified. It was only on praying the Surrender Novena that I gained the courage to leave and strike out on my own.

Thus was born Stella Maris Media.

I admit at the time I was afraid. I had no idea how Stella Maris Media would do when I first launched it. I really had no idea. It was scary. Why? Because I was starting out all over again, this time with no support system.

Just me, my own equipment, my studio, my writing, my producing, my hosting, my editing, my publishing — just ME.

What if it didn’t work? What if people didn’t like it? What if I failed? What if I didn't gain enough subscriptions to support my family?

These were all things going through my head at the time.

And so, I turned to Our Lady for help — Our Lady, under the title Star of the Sea — Stella Maris. She is the patron saint of Stella Maris Media. I entrusted this entire endeavor to her care, and I turn to her every day seeking her guidance and help and blessing.

And believe me when I tell you: She has blessed me beyond measure!

About Stella Maris Media

Our vision

The name Stella Maris has its roots in a 5th-century translation by St. Jerome of the Hebrew name for Mary, Miryam. Originally written as Stilla Maris, it meant "Drop of the Sea." Through what likely stemmed from a transcription error, this evolved into Stella Maris, which means "Star of the Sea."

This title has been cherished in Catholic tradition, especially among seafarers before modern navigation, as they relied on the stars to guide them. Notably, the North Star, Polaris, was also known as Stella Maris.

Beyond just seafarers, Stella Maris serves as a beacon for all of life’s travelers, illuminating the darkness and offering hope as it cuts through the fog, guiding us toward the bright shores of eternity.

"Bringing hope to a world in need."
